Our Managing Director, Paul Williams, spoke with Proactive about progress at the Tick Hill Joint Venture and the potential for early gold production at the historic site. Paul noted that Tick Hill, located about 120 km south of Cloncurry, was previously one of Australia’s highest-grade gold mines, with historic production of 0.5 million ounces at 26 grams per tonne. We are working towards early-stage production, potentially by early next year, subject to completion of the acquisition and the outcomes of feasibility work currently underway.

Paul explained that the current feasibility studies are being informed by a 2020 study that used a gold price of A$2,350/oz—less than half the current price. A recent Preliminary Economic Assessment has also supported the viability of processing tailings. Test work is ongoing at the site to assess energy usage, throughput rates, and gold recovery, with these inputs feeding into the study in the coming weeks and months. Paul described activity at Tick Hill as “certainly accelerating.”
